Ingredients:
- Rice-1 cup
- Tomatoes Ripe -4 to 5(medium size)
- Big onion-1
- Green chillies-2
- Coriander leaves-little
- Chili powder-1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Coriander powder - 3 tsp
- Ginger-a small piece
- Garlic-3 pods
- Fennel seeds-1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon-2 pieces
- Clove-2
- bay leaves-2 no
- Mint leaves-little
- Curry leaf-little
Method:
- In a kadai heat oil and add the cinnamon, clove, bay leaf, cashews , ginger garlic paste and saute well for few minutes.
- Then add the Onions and fry well till it turns color and then add the finely chopped tomatoes and saute for few minutes
- Then add the chilli powder, turmeric powder and fry till the oil leaves side.
- soak the rice for 20 min.
- Drain all the water and keep aside.
- In a cooker add little oil (or) butter add some cumin seeds, cloves and add the soaked rice, saute it for 2 min and add water & close the lid wait for a whistle.
- Mix the rice and gravy.
