Mutton Chukka Varuval

Ingredients:
  • Mutton(boneless) - 1 lb
  • Cinnamon - 1 stick
  • Clove - 2 nos
  • Bay leaf - 1 no
  • Curry leaf- as needed
  • pottukadalai(split peas dal) - 2 tsp
  • Fennel seed- 2tsp
  • onion - 1 big
  • Tomato - 1 no
  • Garlic - 3 to 5 nos
  • Ginger - 1 inch
  • Corriander powder- 1 tsp
  • chill powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  • Grated coconut-2 tsp
  • Cashews - 5 to 6 nos
  • oil - as needed
  • salt- as needed


Method:
  • Wash the mutton(boneless).
  • In a pressure cooker add mutton, 1 tsp of chill powder, 1 tsp of coriander, 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp gingergarlic paste , curry leaves with some water( 1 1/2 cup).

  • Cook the mutton for 10 to 20 min(3 to 6 whistle).
  • Then grind 1 tsp of fennal seeds, 2 tsp of coconut, cashews.
  • In a pan add 3 tsp of oil ,wen oil is hot add 1/2 tsp of fennal seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cloves.

  • Then add the chopped onion, saute it for 1min.
  • Then add tomato saute it for 2 min.

  • Now add the grinded paste and salt.

  • Open the cooker seperate the mutton pieces.
  • Add the seperated water in pan.Cook it till became thick.
  • Then add the mutton pieces.
  • Cook it till you get the desired consistency.
