Thakkali Vengayam Chutney


Ingredients:

  • Tomatoes - 3 medium
  • Onion - 1 medium,
  • Tamarind - small size
  • Urad dal - 3 tsp
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Red chillies - 4
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 sprig
  • Asafoetida - large pinch
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  • Heat oil and add urad dal let it become brown then add tamarind,garlic & red chilli.
  • Then add onions and tomatoes fry 1 mts.Let it cool.
  • Add salt when u grind it , do the seasoning with mustard and curry leaves
  • Pour over ground chutney.
  • Mix well and serve.
